The Last Drop Tomintoul 55 Year Old (Release No.36) is a seriously mature Speyside single malt, laid down on 11th November 1968 when Tomintoul was still a very young distillery. After more than five decades of ageing, it was given a final 20-month finish in an Amoroso butt, adding an extra layer of rich, dessert-wine sweetness and polished oak. With only 582 bottles released at 41.7% ABV, it’s a classic “milestone” collector’s whisky with real story and scarcity.

Why This Bottle Is Worth Bidding On
- 55-year-old single malt from a distillery founded in the mid-1960s, with a clear “early days” provenance and a specific laydown date.
- The Last Drop releases are positioned firmly at the premium end, and the limited outturn (582 bottles) keeps this genuinely scarce.
- Amoroso butt finishing is an unusual and very on-brand touch for The Last Drop, likely boosting the dried-fruit, pudding and sweet oak character without overpowering the whisky’s mature elegance.

Condition / Notes for Buyers
