Start Your Cask Selling Journey

1. Get in Touch / Valuation: To begin, contact our team by email info@whiskysauction.co.uk. We will require for you to provide some basic details about your cask (e.g. distillery, year of distillation, and any recent re-gauging information). We will give you an approximate valuation, as well as answer any questions you may have regarding the selling process.
2. Re-Gauging / Contract: For a smooth sale, we require the cask to be re-gauged within six months before the auction date. If you already have thisinformation,great! If not, you may need to contact the distillery. If you have a sample of the cask, it helps us add tasting notes and showcase the whisky's colour, enhancing the sales process. We will also prepare a short, simple legal contract that protects all parties involved, ensuring a hassle-free sale.
3. Auction: Your cask will be featured in our upcoming auction. We take professional photographs and create detailed descriptions to attract buyers.
4. Post Auction / Proceeds Transfer: Following the auction, we manage the legal transfer of ownership between you, the buyer, and the distillery. This process can take 1 week to 3 months, depending on the buyer's location and the distillery's processing time. Once the transfer is complete, we will transfer the auction proceeds to your nominated account within 48 hours. We will keep you updated and ensure the process is as swift as possible.
