This release from Talisker, a distillery on the island of Skye, is the first in a series of exceptional sherry cask finishes. The Bodega Series is a deep dive into the historic wineries of the renowned 'Sherry Triangle'. The debut bottle is a 40 year old Talisker, crafted in collaboration with Delgado Zuleta, one of the world's oldest sherry makers. The whisky is not the only thing with four decades under its belt - the Amontillado sherry previously in the butts was also at least 40 years old. Despite the short three month finishing period, this whisky is bursting with flavor, balancing restrained smoke with elevated fruit notes.
