Produced by Suntory, this release is somewhat of an enigma as there is still a debate as to whether this "Pure Malt" release is a single malt Hakushu or a vatting of Hakushu and Yamazaki. This expression was traditionally distilled in 1981 and was put down to mature in oak for an undisclosed length of time. The whisky was then bottled at a strength of 43% abv.
