Affectionately known as ‘The Gaelic Whisky’ Poit Dhubh is a 12-year-old vatted malt specially introduced by Praban na Linne Ltd for the Gaelic-speaking islands of the Hebrides. The name means literally “Black Pot” but this is also the term used in the Highlands for an illicit still, in which the best malt whiskies used to be made for discriminating crofters, barons and royalty alike up till 1824.
