Nose: Sweet sultanas and raisins with a hint of sweet liquorice and only the slightest tang of peat. With water: marzipan and almond, creamy nuts and ripe fruits, still only a slight peat smoke.
Palate: Without water, a massive explosion of peat with huge oakiness, moderated by sweeter heavy sherry. With water, peat remains dominant but slowly allows more sherried sweetness through, always with drying smoke.
Finish: Concentrated peat and thick sherried oak with a deep dryness.
