Distillery Story
Glen Moray began as the West Brewery in Elgin, run by Robert Thorne & Sons, before being converted to a distillery in 1897. After a period of closure in 1910, it was acquired by the MacDonald and Muir families, owners of Glenmorangie. Over the years, Glen Moray has expanded its production capacity significantly, now operated by La Martiniquaise and contributing to both single malts and blended whiskies like Label 5. The distillery’s continued growth and rich history make its older expressions especially sought after by collectors.
