Booths is one of England's oldest and most respected independent food retailers — a northern institution founded by Edwin Booth in 1847. 2022 marked their 175th anniversary, and to celebrate they were invited to select a cask from the Spirit of Yorkshire's warehouse. The cask they chose was number 175 — by happy coincidence, the 175th cask ever filled at the distillery, and one of only three Pedro Ximénez sherry butts filled during their very first year of production in 2016. A single PX sherry butt of six-year-old Filey Bay, bottled at natural cask strength. A bottle with a story that begins at the very beginning of Yorkshire's whisky history.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich and immediately fruity — the PX sherry influence is front and centre, delivering honeycomb, chocolate, dried fruit, and toffee alongside the distillery's characteristic light, creamy Yorkshire barley character.
Palate: Concentrated and indulgent — honeycomb, dark chocolate, raisins, and toffee with a full-bodied richness from the PX cask. The distillery's signature orchard fruit and biscuity malt thread underneath the sweetness at cask strength.
Finish: Warm, sweet, and lasting — dried fruit, chocolate, and a gently warming PX sweetness fading slowly.

Why This Bottle Is Worth Bidding On
- Cask #175 is the 175th cask ever filled at the Spirit of Yorkshire — a founding year release from a distillery that now commands serious collector attention. This is as early in the distillery's history as it is possible to go in a PX cask.
- One of only three PX sherry butts filled in the distillery's entire first year of production — an extraordinarily rare cask type from the most historically significant period in the distillery's short life.
- The Booths collaboration gives this bottle a distinct provenance story: two northern English heritage brands, a 175-year anniversary, and a 175th cask. The symmetry is impossible to replicate and the bottle is impossible to reorder.
