Caperdonich is one of Speyside's lost distilleries — it ran quietly in the shadow of Glen Grant from 1898 until its permanent closure in 2002, producing spirit that was largely destined for blending and rarely appeared as a single malt. That makes independently bottled releases like this one genuinely significant. The Artful Dodger Whisky Collective sourced cask #95065, a single bourbon hogshead distilled in 1995, before the distillery was demolished in 2011. Aged 29 years and bottled at natural cask strength of 58.6%, this is Caperdonich at its finest — classic Speyside elegance, unhurried and fully developed, from a distillery that can never produce another drop.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Honeyed orchard fruit with soft waxiness, vanilla, and polished oak, with a bright note of citrus peel. Ripe apples, apricots, pear skin, and yellow plums develop with time — elegant and inviting throughout.
Palate: Rounded and mature — ripe apple, malt, soft wax, and gentle oak spice, with the cask strength adding weight and texture without overwhelming the natural fruit character.
Finish: Long and gracefully fading — honeyed fruit, vanilla, and a soft warmth that lingers well.

Why This Bottle Is Worth Bidding On
- Caperdonich was demolished in 2011 and will never distil again — every cask that existed at closure is all that will ever exist. Supply is finite, fixed, and diminishing with every bottle opened.
- Single cask releases from silent Speyside distilleries at this age are among the most collectible categories in independent bottling — this is exactly the kind of whisky serious collectors seek out.
- The Artful Dodger Whisky Collective is a respected independent bottler with a strong track record of sourcing exceptional casks; their Caperdonich release has drawn significant attention from collectors and received outstanding tasting notes from those fortunate enough to find one.
